Summary
Five years ago, Baxter ended the happiest relationship he'd ever been in. Knowing he never wanted to go through the pain of ending a relationship like that again, he continued cutting people out of his life and doing his best to be comfortable in his lonely life. This includes occasionally listening to his Ex's music to try and get an insight into her life and convince himself he did the right thing.
His whole worldview shakes, however, when he takes on the Eckert-Adams wedding and meets one of their helpers and their live performer, Kiara Bennet. The only girl he ever really loved, the one he never really got over and the one he purposefully broke up with and promised never to see him again.
Kiara still remembers having her fairytale romance end in heartbreak and still nurses the wounds it left, but throws herself into her music and her family to try to distract from the fact that she still misses her mysterious stranger, suitor for a season, who broke her heart. But when he shows up five years later, and they have to work together to ensure her friend's wedding goes off without incident, she sees an opportunity to finally get the answers that have haunted her since that summer night.- Language:

When the condo, previously owned by the Old Mean Couple, is sold, everyone breathes a sigh of relief. The people of Sunset Bird are excited to see exactly who these new owners are. No one new ever shows up; at least not since Cliff and Cove Holden moved in a few years ago. Imagine everyone's surprise when the new tenants seem to be a bit more...posh and well to do than everyone else in town.
Enter Matthias, the youngest of 12 children to the Fairwell family. He...would rather be anywhere other than Sunset Bird. But when forced to hang out with the only two kids his age, he finds out he doesn't mind the quiet little no where town as much as he thought he would. In fact, he finds that the sights - and one beach boy in particular - are very appealing.
NOTE: This starts somewhere between Step 1 and Step 2, but closer to Step 2 - about a year or so prior. Not beta read - so any mistakes, let me know in the comments and I can fix them!

TLDR - my ex boyfriend is the wedding planner for my friend’s older brother, and since I’ve been helping get things ready for the wedding, I’ve had to be around him a lot. I still have feelings for him and he’s starting to open up to me again, but I’m afraid he’s just going to cut me off after he doesn’t have a reason to keep seeing me anymore like he did when he broke up with me 5 years ago. I don’t know what I should do about it, if anything. The wedding’s tomorrow.
