“Holy shit!” Clint sat up and gripped the laptop in both hands. It wasn’t a tattoo but rather a metal arm. And that was the Winter Soldier? He had only seen blurry surveillance footage or the photos HYDRA had where he was always muzzled. But those eyes were unmistakable. Obviously the arm, but the eyes. The same eyes that had stared out of his history book, out of the Smithsonian Captain America exhibit.
James Buchanan Barnes, The Winter Soldier, the assassin out of time, had a goddamn YouTube channel. Clint’s long day was going to become a long couple of months.

Summary
S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't expect to find Captain America frozen in ice. They didn't expect him to be so disgruntled and bitter. Sure, they knew he'd be sad over missing out his life in the past, but there was sadness and then there was Steve Rogers plummeting his fists through a dozen punching bags a day. It was...terrifying and quite frankly, his anger was putting a damper on S.H.I.E.L.D.s plans. They had wars to stop, people to save and peace to upkeep.
So naturally, they send in one of their best - the ex-Russian spy turned S.H.I.E.L.D agent. Nothing could really go wrong, right?
It's not like the infamous Black Widow would ever be susceptible to love and the great Captain America would never fall for someone like her.
Natasha Romanoff though? She might. And Steve Rogers? He definitely would.

“Yeah.” Thalia muttered, retracting her shield. “Thanks.” She brushed off her pants. “So, who’s your godly parent?”
Nico grimaced. Time for some creative obfuscation. “Um, I don’t know.” He shook his head. “My father left when I was really little. Mother would never talk about him. I don’t…” He paused, looked away. “I don’t remember much of my childhood…”
“You’re a runaway, then.” Luke said.
He’s not wrong. It just wasn’t his family he was running away from.
It was his past.-
Basically, I wanted a BAMF Nico di Angelo time travel with actual real meaningful changes to the timeline and major ripple effects! Self-indulgent for sure, since I want to redeem all my favourite characters! What if Nico went back in time to the lotus casino, and snuck out just a bit earlier?
