    Chapters 1-6 just 10/10, no notes! Ilya gets high and gets himself lost in the woods, then falls out of a tree trying to see better. Along comes bitter Shane who got injured and had to quit hockey... he has convinced himself he hates Ilya, but of course it's jealousy and now- DESIRE. Ilya shoots his shot as subtly as possible but thanks to the tism, Shane misses it. Ilya crashes out and says what he wants. They go the oral route then BOFFUM act stupid cause of course they do. Shane says he doesn't like him which of course hurts Ilya's feelings DESPITE the fact that he started it. lol Shane builds him a chair and blames it on being a Metros fan. LOLOLOL Shane was forced to literally throw himself on Ilya to get him to stop the interrogation.

    Whew! Ilya drops off the face of the earth in 2014 and Shane gets injured in 2024. They are both in some crazy small town. Ilya has bakery and Shane coaches peewee girls hockey. Ilya has twins with Sveta but they never loved each other. Essentially, they have to heal from Vegas and are trying to find their way back to each other. Coach Hollander is close with the twins. Ilya and Shane haven't had sex in over 6 weeks trying to slow things down and build REAL intimacy, but they're both clearly over it. Therapist gave Shane terrible advice not knowing enough of the situation... as a therapist... tsk tsk tsk...
    CH 18 Shane goes to help his parents and they miss each other desperately. cinnamon rolls and I'd have folded like a cheap suit;
    CH 19 Shane tells Hayden he's gay and they discuss Vegas but not Ilya, then he goes to talk to Svetlana and it gets kinda dark but really necessary, then Shane goes home early and a recruiter tries to get him to coach bigger kids. Story ends with Shane asking Ilya to his house OMG OMG

    "Hi, solnyshko.”
    The Russian pet name set a firework off inside Shane's mind as he heard it cooed from behind him. The intonation was just as he remembered, but the voice was much deeper.

    He turned and felt himself short circuit. It took every ounce of willpower to not let his jaw drop cartoonishly to the floor. Shane would recognize his individual features anywhere, even after 5 years. But it was as if someone had snapped their fingers and the smug, silly Russian boy who had been attached to Shane's hip for 3 summers was transformed into some sort of fucking Adonis right before his eyes.

    “Ilya-” was all Shane managed before strong arms were wrapped around his waist and lifting him off the ground in a greeting all too familiar from years ago.

    When Shane Hollander & Ilya Rozanov spent their summers as teens in an elite hockey camp, they quickly became inseparable friends. But they lose touch when Shane moves on as a prospect for the NHL and Ilya for the KHL.

    Years later, Montreal makes a bold move to take the hottest player in the KHL. After hearing of the Russian's reputation, the Montreal Captain is tasked with keeping his old best friend and new teammate out of trouble.

    “Ilya, what are we gonna do?” Shane says.

    Ilya finishes whatever he has been doing on his phone, and tosses it gently to the bed beside him. He crosses the room to Shane, stands in front of him, squeezes into his shoulders with his big hands, rubbing them like he means to warm them up.

    “Looks like we will have a little vacation,” he says, with a big obnoxious grin.

     

     

    Boston and Montreal are sent to Paris to play against each other in an exhibition series in January 2017. Ilya and Shane decide to stay in Paris for one more night. Just one more night, so they can talk. Maybe finally understand each other.

    They aren't expecting a volcano to erupt in Iceland and close all the airspace in Europe, leaving them stranded there. Together.

    Paris was fun, Moscow was not, and now it's time to return home... end of ch 10 Airspace reopens so they have to go home and they are HEARTSICK. Shane asks Ilya about playing for Ottawa… cliffhanger to end ch 12 one chapter to go.... the boys are PATHETIC lol. Ilya's about to MAIL a ring??? Sir please lol

    This summer would be Shane Hollander’s first year as head lifeguard. The Joint had recently undergone a program expansion, partnering with the local schools for swim lessons and the local summer camp for Fun Zone Fridays, in which hoards of dusty elementary schoolers came from the nearby wilderness park to splash about and cause general mayhem.

    Part of this expansion included promoting not just Shane to head lifeguard, but Rozanov, arguably the most beloved staff member and biggest thorn in Shane’s side, to head swim instructor.

    Shane and Rozanov would be working all day, every weekday, at the same pool.

    It was going to be a long summer.

    Or: Shane and Ilya spend the whole summer working together shirtless by the pool, antagonizing each other and trying very hard not to fall in love. They fail.
