Summary
‘Sherlock,’ the way James says his name sends shivers down Sherlock’s spine. He unconsciously leans closer, wanting more of his touch; a mix of contradicting feelings reflecting on his face.
James knows that no matter how much Sherlock wants to be seen otherwise, he is deeply dependent on the people around him. Maybe that’s the reason why he didn’t make any friends before him: the fear of trusting the wrong person led him to isolation which felt far more comfortable than having his heart broken.
The truth is, James doesn’t want to cause Sherlock any pain. He wants him back, that’s all.

Mrs. Hudson wouldn't be ashamed to admit that she had to lean unsteadily against the door frame for a moment at the sight, but quickly oriented herself. Her first ( and most frightening ) thought was that there had been an attack. “Oh, Sherlock, are you o-?“
“Help… please?” He didn't let her finish. It was probably for the best. She knew the answer, and knew just as well that Sherlock wouldn't say it. His voice was still small and weak - impossibly fragile; a part of her broke at the sound. it was … uncomfortable to see Sherlock like that.

Sherlock needs help. There’s only one more person on the planet he is willing to turn to.
He really Hopes Mrs. Hudson is awake.

Summary
John is very pleased with how much easier Sherlock is to live with post-wives, and babies that were not his, and lunatic sisters, and explosions. Pleased that Sherlock respects his requests and is making an obvious effort to be a better flatmate - a quieter, more reserved, more tactful flatmate, and a more polite, calmer, more controlled person in general.
John is very pleased.
