Summary
In the days leading up to the day the bombs fell, John 'Jack' Jackson, a man at the cusp of adulthood at eighteen does what every American does. He respects his parents, the flag and loathes the Commies. In the days preluding the fall of thousands of atomic bombs, the gears of fate are turning, as the Vault Experiment is being prepared by the architects of fate. A butterfly flaps its wings, and things change, slightly. A young man, selected for the Vault through some criteria, grapples with his duty and his destiny.
