Summary:

Mew and her friends are now going on their next journey, the Battle Frontier. Along with the Kanto Region's Pokemon Contest. And what's more, it's time for Tomo to become an official Pokemon Trainer.

Chapter 1: Episode 1: Home Journey, and A Journey A New

Chapter Text

One bright afternoon at Adriana's house, Mew, Gary, Tomo, Max, Misty, Tracey, and their Pokemon are outside and relaxing a bit after having the lunch Adriana made. Of course, Mew's New Pokemon, Groudon, Kyogre, and Shiny Rayquaza are playing with Pikachu, Eevee, Meloetta, Skwovet, Sparkle the Raichu, and Azurill. Mew also lets out the Ralts Twins so they can play. Zeraora watches the groups from the house with Gardevior

"Wow Gary, your mom makes a good lunch," Max says.

"Yeah. She's great," Gary says.

"You know Max, I'm still surprised that you're with Professor Birch," Mew says, still a bit surprised.

"Yeah," Tomo replies, "And where's May?"

"Well, May decided to go off on the next part of her journey, and I started to miss her. So I've decided to follow her. And it just so happens that Professor Birch was going to see Professor Oak, so he invited me to come," Max says.

"I see," Mew says.

"And you managed to beat May here," Tomo says with a grin.

Max laughs, "Yeah. I did. I wonder how long it will be until she gets here."

"Well until then, you get to hang out with us," Mew says.

"Yeah!" Max says, excited.

Max soon looks around and sees a flock of Pidgy and their evolved forms flying overhead.

"Wow. Look at all the Pidgey, Pidgeotto and Pidgeot flying in the sky," Max says, amazed.

"Yeah. We got a lot of them. In fact, the flock that just flew over us is my Pidgeot's flock," Mew says.

"Really?!" Max asks, amazed.

"Yep," Mew answers with a nod.

"Wow," Max says, amazed.

Max soon looks around to see Pallet Town.

"Your town is really nice, and there's also a large forest too," Max says.

"Yeah. That's the forest where my papa, Eevee, and I live. The forest outside of Pallet Town is where I grew up, before I started living at Professor Oak's lab," Mew says.

"Oh yeah, I remember you telling us about that. I still think it's cool you get to live with him. And he taught you so much," Max says.

"Yeah. Living with Professor Oak does help me understand that I still have a lot to learn. When I was living with my papa in the forest, I learned about Pokemon, how to search for food, swimming, fighting, and all kinds of stuff. When I lived with Professor Oak, I learned that I've got a lot to learn about humans and Pokemon, and about how we coexist together," Mew says.

"Guess that's something we all gotta learn," Tracey says.

Then Mew says, "Hey Max, since you're here, maybe we can show you around."

"Can you?" Max asks, excited, "I want to go see Professor Oak's lab! Can we?!"

"Sure," Mew says.

"Sounds good," Professor Birch speaks out.

Everyone turns to see Professor Birch and Professor Oak walking towards them.

"Professor Oak and I are planning on heading to the lab and want to know if you all wanna come," Prof. Birch says.

"Sounds good," Mew says, "I was planning on heading there anyway."

"Yeah. I don't mind visiting grandpa and we can visit our Pokemon," Gary says.

"Let's go," Tomo says.

Soon, the group ride in Professor Birch's car as they head to Professor Oak's lab. Max looks around in amazement to see Pallet Town.

"Hey look, there's some Rattata over there," Mew says.

Max and Tomo look to see a group of Rattata playing and running around together.

Gary looks up, "And there's a flock of Spearow flying overhead."

The gang looks up to see the Spearow flock flying over Pallet Town.

"Yes. you see that there are a lot of Pokemon in Pallet Town, and quite a good amount are those Mew is familiar with," Professor Oak says.

Gary then looks ahead and says, "There we are."

Everyone looks up ahead to see Professor Oak's lab.

"Wow. So this is the lab," Max says, amazed.

"Yep. That's Professor Oak's lab. It's also where I live," Mew says.

"Indeed," Professor Oak says.

Misty then notices, "Hold on, there's someone over there."

Everyone looks ahead to see someone waiting next to the steps leading to the lab. It's a familiar girl with a familiar Amaura.

"Hey guys!" The girl calls out, "It's great to see you.

Mew and the others are surprised to see who it is.

"It's Jen!" Mew says, surprised.

"Well, this is a surprise," Prof. Birch says.

Professor Birch then stops the car near the staircase, and everyone climbs out to see that it is Jen and Amaura.

Pikachu, Eevee, Skwovet, Meloetta, and Sparkle happily jump out to greet Jen and Amura.

"Hello everyone," Jen says.

"Hey Jen," Misty says.

"We didn't expect to see you here today," Tracey says.

"Well, I certainly didn't expect to see you all too," Jen says.

"It's still great to see you, Jen," Max says with a smile.

"Hi Max," Jen says.

Amaura says, "Amaur," and nuzzles Max.

Max giggles and pets Amaura's head, "Hi Amaura, it's good to see you again."

"Well then, how about we all head to the lab so you can catch up," Professor Oak says.

Moments later, the gang enters Professor Oak's lab. Max is very amazed to see Professor Oak's lab.

Astonished, Max says, "Wow. I can't believe I'm getting to walk inside of Professor Oak's lab, and Mew's home. It's so cool."

"Thanks, we like it too," Professor Oak says.

"So Jen, what brings you to Kanto?" Mew asks.

"Yeah. We thought you headed back to the Orange Islands?" Tomo asks.

"I did," Jen says, "I've gotten some rest and spent a little time with my sister and our Pokemon friends. And soon, I've decided to go out to travel some more. And the first thing I've decided to do is head to Pallet Town to meet you guys."

Amaura happily nods with glee.

"That's cool to hear. Tomo and I plan to get some rest for a few days, maybe a week before I begin my next journey," Mew says.

"Really?" Jen asks.

"Sure am," Mew says, "Right here in the Kanto Region."

"What are you doing? You've already become Champion in Kanto," Max asks, confused.

"I know, but I was told about the Battle Frontier," Mew says.

"The Battle Frontier? What's that?" Jen asks.

"Well, from what I've been told the Battle Frontier seems similar to the Kanto League," Mew begins to explain, "There are seven different battle facilities throughout Kanto, and they're run by a Frontier Brain."

"Sounds kind of like gym battles where you battle a gym leader," Max says.

"True, but I was told that they're very powerful. If I defeat a Frontier Brain, I'll get a Frontier Symbol, which is their version of a Gym Badge. However, there is a major difference," Mew says.

"What's that?" Misty asks.

"Well, when I start competing the Battle Frontier, I was given six facilities, and if I earned all six Frontier Symbols, I'll be given the location of the seventh facility," Mew says.

"That's different from competing in gym battles," Misty says.

"Yeah, and I planned on competing in the Battle Frontier," Mew says.

"Somehow I knew you planned to do it. And I know you're going to be great," Max says.

"Thanks Max, but I plan to do some training, and get things prepared for my next journey. But first, I plan on getting some rest, relaxation, and spending time with my Pokemon," Mew says.

Max then asks, "Hey Mew, can I see your room?"

"Sure," Mew says.

Moments later, Mew and her friends enter Mew's bedroom. Max is very amazed to see it.

"Wow. This is your room," Max says, looking around, "It's really cool."

Max looks out the window, "And you have a great view of the forest there."

"Thanks. I really got a great view of my home. Where I used to live," Mew says.

Max then walks to a wooden case with a glass. Inside are Mew's trophies, badges, and even the Trophy and Ribbon cup she won from the Hoenn Region.

"Wow Mew. These are all yours?" Max asks, amazed.

"Yes. Those are my badges and trophies I've got from Kanto, the Orange Island, and Johto," Mew says.

Misty then notices the Ribbon, "Wow. This must be the Ribbon Cup you won."

"Yep. That's my ribbon cup," Mew says.

She then brings out her ribbon case and shows her ribbons, "And these are my Hoenn Ribbons."

"Wow. That's amazing," Tracey says.

"They look so pretty," Misty says.

"I know. They're very nice," Mew says.

"I like to see your Hoenn Badges," Misty says.

"Sure," Mew says, and shows Misty her badges from the Hoenn Region.

"Wow. They look amazing," Misty says.

"Thanks Misty," Mew says.

Mew then places her badge and ribbon case inside the case so they will be safe. She places them next to her Ribbon Cup and Hoenn League Trophy.

"Come on guys, let's go check on the lab," Mew says.

"Yeah!" Max says, excited.

The group then head to the lab where Professor Oak is. Suddenly, they hear a loud thud.

"What was that?" Jen asks.

"I don't know, but I can guess," Mew says.

The group walks over to find Muk has body slammed Professor Oak, again.

"Muk, get off of me!" Professor Oak says, struggling.

"Muk, stop it!" Mew says.

"Yeah Muk, get off of grandpa!" Gary says.

"Wow. Muk really likes Professor Oak," Max says.

"He does, and he likes me too. After all, this Muk is mine," Mew says.

Mew walks over, "Muk, get off of Professor Oak and say hi to us."

Muk does just that and gives Mew, Pikachu, Eevee, Zeraora, Gardevoir, and the Ralts twins a hug.

And Muk happily says, "Muk Muk Muk." (Glad to see you all. We missed you.)

Mew giggles and says, "I missed you too, Muk."

"Wow. I saw your Muk on TV. He's the one who body slammed the strong Bellsprout," Max says.

"That's him," Mew says.

"He looks cool," Max says.

"Muk," (Thanks.) Muk says, and hugs Max too.

"Hey!" Max yelps.

And Muk also grabs Tomo and the others.

"Muk stop!" Tracey calls out.

"Let us go, Muk!" Misty calls out.

"How can he hug so many of us?!" Jen calls out.

"That's Muk we're talking about. You know how he is," Mew says.

Even the Pokemon cry out, like they're saying, "No kidding!" struggling to break free from the restraints.

Sometime later, after breaking free from Muk's grasp, Mew and the others are now in the forest right outside of Pallet Town. Of course, Zeraora, Mew, Pikachu, and Eevee are taking the lead of the group.

Mew turns to Max and the others, "You all doing okay, there?"

"Don't worry, we're doing fine," Mew says.

"Yeah. We're all good," Tomo says.

Max looks around, "So Mew, where are we all going?"

Well, I think it would be a good idea to show you guys where I used to live," Mew says.

"Really?" Max asks, taking an interest.

"Yeah," Mew says.

Misty then remembers, "That's right. You used to live in a cave before living with Professor Oak."

"That's right," Gary says, "I saw the cave before, and it's pretty large."

"Really?" Max asks.

"That's right. It's big on the inside to be honest, and quite long. It's enough place for us to take shelter, store food, supplies, and other essentials. We even share it with the other Pokemon if needed," Mew explains.

She then points ahead, "And there it is."

Everyone looks to see a large tree. The cave entrance has some shades due to the large trees. Some of the trees have fruits and berries. Even some of the bushes have berries.

"What do you think?" Mew asks.

"That's cool," Max says.

"Well, this is the first time I'm seeing the cave you used to live in," Tracey says.

"Yeah," Misty says.

"And according to papa, Gardevoir and the Ralts twins have moved in with him," Mew says.

"Aww, how sweet," Misty says.

"Gadevori. Gard. Gardevori," (Yes, it was very kind of him. He's been very kind to both myself and the twins.) Gardevoir says. She then hugs Zeraora, causing him to blush a bit, and turn away in response.

The group begins giggling in response.

"Looks like Zeraora and Gardevoir are like parents," Max says.

"I have to agree on that, especially with them taking care of the twins," Gary says.

"I think it's kind of sweet," Mew says.

Mew then turns to Misty, "So Misty, how are things going with the gym?"

"It's going well. In fact, I've gotten stronger since I've last seen you," Misty says.

"I sure love to see that," Mew says.

"Me too," Jen says.

"Me three," Tomo says.

"I would love to see that," Gary says.

Misty turns to Mew, "Well Mew, you up for a battle."

"Oh you know I will. It's been a long time since the Whirl Cup Competition," Mew says, "And I just know where to do it."

Soon enough, the gang find themselves at what looks like a lake. There are also large stones that look almost like platforms. Mew stands on one stone platform while Misty stands on the other. Everyone else is standing on shore to see the battle.

Tracey calls out, "Alright, the battle of Mew against Misty will take place here. What will be the rules?"

"How about we make this a Double Battle?" Mew suggests, "Each of us use two Pokemon, and the winner will have knocked out both of the opponent's pokemon."

"Okay by me," Misty says.

Soon the two girls bring out their Pokeballs.

"Alright, let the battle begin," Tracey calls out.

Mew then calls out, "Slowking! Dragonair! Come on out!"

And with that, Mew's Shiny Dragonair and Shiny Slowking come out and ready to battle.

"Wow Mew, I didn't know your Slowpoke evolved," Misty says, impressed.

"Thanks Misty. She decided to evolve after she competed during the Grand Festival," Mew says.

"Well then, I've got a couple of surprises myself," Misty says and brings out two of her Pokeball. She then calls out, "Gastrodon! Inteleon! I choose you!"

And with that, both Misty's Pokemon come out.

Misty's Inteleon is a bipedal, reptilian Pokémon that resembles a chameleon. Its head, slender arms, and tail are light blue in coloration, with its tail having a thin dark blue streak following the ridge of the tail. This dark blue coloration is also seen at the tip of its head crest and on its slender torso, which continues down the backside of its legs until the bottom of the feet. The front side of its legs and feet are black, ending in three-pointed toes. Its hands are also black and have five fingers. Its eyes have yellow irises and white pupils, with a black lower lid and a yellow upper lid. Its membrane is also yellow; this membrane forms a thin, wavy, fin-like crest on its head, and connects to the back of its neck before falling over its back in a cape-like fashion. It has a white diamond-shaped patch of skin on its stomach.

Misty's Gastrodon has a pair of large tentacles on its head that curve upward and a smaller, straighter pair on its neck. Its underside is pink, while its mantle is brown, with three pink spots on each side of its back. There are also two lumps on its back, resembling the cerata on real-life sea slugs.

"Wow. I've never seen an Intelon before," Tracey says, amazed.

"And the Gastrodon looks so cool," Max says.

"Gastrodon and Intelon?" Mew says, confused and surprised. She brings out her Pokedex, "Are they who I think they are?"

Dextette says, "Inteleon, the Secret Agent Pokemon, and the evolved form of Drizzile. A Water Type. It uses special lenses in its eyes to sense things about its opponents—like their body heat—then attacks once it identifies a weak spot."

And then Dextette says, "Gastrodon, the Sea Slug Pokemon, and the evolved form of Shellos. A Water and Ground type. The softness of its body helps disperse the force of impacts, so although its body is uncommonly squishy, it's also surprisingly resilient."

"Hey Misty, are they who I think they are?" Mew asks.

"That's right. Since the last time we saw each other, I've been training many of my Water Pokemon. As you can guess my Drizzile and Shellos evolved. Now then, are you ready to battle?"

"Sure are," Mew says. She then calls out the first attack, "Dragonair, use Water Pulse!"

Dragonair then performs a Water Pulse.

Misty calls out, "Gastrodon, use Water Pulse too!"

Gastrodon then uses Water Pulse. Both attacks collide with one another.

Mew then calls out, "Now Slowking, use Psybeam!"

Slowking then performs Psybeam and is able to strike at Gastrodon.

Misty calls out, "Gastrodon, are you alright?"

Gastrodon shakes in response and is able to gain focus.

"Good to see it," Misty says.

She then calls out, "Alright Inteleon, Double Snipe Shot!"

Inteleon performs a double Snap Shot, able to hit both Dragonair and Slowking.

"Now Inteleon, use Air Slash!" Misty calls out.

Inteleon then performs Air Slash towards Dragonair.

"Dragonair, use Dragon Tail!" Mew calls out.

Dragonair performs Dragon Tail.

Both attacks collide with one another, and try to push each other with all their strength. And finally, Dragonair is able to push Inteleon away and the Agent Pokemon splashes into the water.

"Inteleon!" Misty calls out.

Inteleon then comes out of the water.

"Alright Inteleon, use Hydro Pump!" Misty calls out.

Inteleon then uses Hydro Pump to attack Dragonair and sends it falling to the ground. Then fires towards Slowking.

"Quick Slowking, use Psychic to stop the attack!" Mew calls out.

Slowking then uses Psychic to stop the attack and sends it up in the air.

"Now Dragonair, Aqua Tail!" Mew calls out.

Dragonair then uses Aqua Tail and strikes at both Inteleon and Gastrodon, sending them crashing into the water.

"Inteleon! Gastrodon!" Misty calls out.

Luckily, both of them rise up and are still ready to battle.

"Are you both still up to battle?" Misty asks.

Both Pokemon nod their heads in response.

"Alright then let's give it everything we got!" Misty says, with a determined smile.

She then calls out, "Now Gastrodon, use Whirlpool!"

And with that, Misty's Gastrodon performs Whirlpool. Gastrodon performs the attack and strikes at Dragonair and Slowking, sending them spinning in the attack.

Mew calls out, "Dragonair! Slowking!"

"Oh no!" Jen calls out.

"Dragonair and Slowking are trapped!" Max says, shocked.

"Now Inteleon, use Ice Beam!" Misty calls out.

Inteleon then performs Ice Beam and begins freezing the whirlpool, and trapping Dragonair and Slowking inside.

"They're trapped!" Tomo cries out, shocked.

The Pokemon are shocked to see this.

Mew then calls out, "Slowking, Zen Headbutt! Dragonair, use Dragon Rush! Aim it above you!"

Both Pokemon perform their attacks up the frozen prison, and are both able to escape. Misty, Intelon, and Gastrodon are shocked to see it.

"That's so cool!" Max says, amazed.

"They broke free!" Jen says.

"It's really cool to see Misty and Mew battle like this," Tomo says.

"I know. I can tell they both have become stronger, same with their Pokemon," Tracey says.

"Yeah," Gary says, "And from the looks of it, I think Mew is about to finish the match."

Everyone looks at Gary with confused expressions.

"I expect nothing less from you, Mew," Misty says.

"Thanks," Mew says, "I don't expect less from you either."

"Well then, let's do this!" Misty calls out.

"Inteleon! Gastrodon! Double Water Pulse!" Misty calls out.

Both Pokemon then use Water Pulse.

Mew then calls out, "Dodge!"

And with that, Dragonair takes to the air while Slowking dives down into the water. This shocked Misty and her Pokemon.

She then calls out, "Alright, lets wrap this up! Dragonair use, Twister!"

Dragonair then begins to perform Twister and flies towards Inteleon.

"Slowking, use Hydrop Pump!" Mew calls out.

Slowking then performs a powerful Hydro Pump. It combines into a water tornado and strikes at both Inteleon and Gastrodon in full force.

"Now Dragonair, use Dragon Tail! Slowking, use Zen Head Butt " Mew calls out.

Both Dragonair and Slowking perform both attacks.

Misty calls out, "Inteleon, use Snipe Shot! Gastrodon, use Ice Beam!"

Inteleon and Gastrodon perform the attacks. However, Dragonair and Slowking dodge the attacks and are able to strike at Misty's Pokemon with full force. Inteleon and Gastrodon fall into the water, and rise up to the surface soon after.

Misty cries out, "Gastrodon! Inteleon!"

And it's revealed that Gastodon and Inteleon are knocked out.

Tracey announces, "Gastrodon and Inteleon are unable to battle! Dragonair and Slowking win! The victor goes to Mew!"

"Alright!" Mew cheers.

Everyone happily cheers with excitement to see a great battle.

Misty calls back her Pokemon as she says, "Inteleon, Gastrodon, you both did a great job. You deserve a good rest," and both Pokemon return to her Pokeballs.

Mew then says, "Dragonair, Slowking, you both have been amazing out there. Get a good rest," and calls back her Pokemon in the Pokeball.

Mew then calls out, "That was a great battle, Misty."

"Sure was. It felt great battling against you again," Misty says.

"Sure was," Mew says.

The group laughs with smiles on their faces. Even the gang are happy to see the two girls having a good battle.

Later in the night, everyone is in Professor Oak's lab, having dinner.

"This was great food Adriana," Mew says.

"Yeah. The food tastes great, mom," Gary says.

"I agree," Tracey says.

"Thank you, everyone," Adriana says.

Professor Oak turns to Mew, "So Mew, I heard from Gary that you're planning on competing in the Pokemon Frontier."

"That's right," Mew says, "I plan on spending a week or so to get myself prepared, maybe relax, and do some training with my Pokemon before going on my next journey."

"I think it's a good idea. It's been a while since you've been home, and you can use some rest after your journey through Hoenn and return here," Professor Oak says.

"She's right," Gary says, "Especially when you competed in both the Hoenn League and the Hoenn Pokemon Contest."

"That's right. I could use some rest," Mew says.

"Well, it will give you some time to come up with gathering supplies, rest, and make planning arrangements for the Battle Frontier," Tracey says.

"I plan on doing that, and plan to spend time with my friends and family here," Mew says.

Suddenly, Tomo speaks up, "Professor Oak…"

"Hmm," Professor Oak responds and turns to him, "What is it, Tomo?"

"Well, I've been thinking… um," Tomo says, sounding nervous.

Mew notices, "What's wrong, Tomo?"

"Well I've been thinking about it, and well, I want to start my journey too," Tomo says.

That catches everyone by surprise.

"Really Tomo?" Jen asks, surprised.

"Yeah," Tomo says, "I've been thinking about it for some time. After watching Mew, Gary, and the others battle, the gym battles, and the Pokemon Leagues, I realized that I wanted to become a great Pokemon Trainer, and wanted to have battles and work with my Pokemon as a team. I want to do gym battles like Gary and Mew."

"Wow Tomo, you've been thinking about it for that long?" Mew asks.

"Well kind of," Tomo says, "I wasn't sure because I was eight when we first met, and I remember you saying that I need to be ten in order to be eligible to be a Pokemon trainer."

"Well Tomo, it's been a few years since you met Mew and the others, and I believe by this time, you are eligible to become a Pokemon trainer," Professor says.

"Really?" Tomo asks, surprised.

"Yes," Professor Oak answers with a nod, "And with your travels with Mew, learning about Pokemon, learning about battling, and other experiences you've learned, you are more than ready to become a Pokemon trainer. That is, if you believe you're ready."

"YES!" Tomo happily cheers.

Every human and Pokemon in the house happily clap and cheer for Tomo.

Mew then hugs Tomo, "That's great, Tomo. You're going to be a Pokemon trainer."

"Yeah. I'm officially going to be a Pokemon trainer," Tomo says, happily.

"Congradulations Tomo," Gary says.

"Congradulations!" Max and Jen happily cheer.

"That's great to hear," Misty says.

Mew then says, "And this gives us another reason to stay in Pallet Town for a few days. We need to get you ready to become an official Pokemon trainer."

"Yeah," Tomo says happily, "I can't wait."

The first day of returning to Pallet Town has been quite an eventful one. And now, Tomo is planning to become an official Pokemon Trainer. Mew and her friends plan to have a good rest after their journey and prepare to continue their next journey to the Battle Frontier for Mew, and for Tomo, the chance to compete in the Pokemon Indigo League.
